Lexan ex-cab windows. "Light weight"

Made some lexan window for the ex-cab portion of Can't Quit

The glass and flip outs,

Then I cleaned up the frames so I could rivet the lexan on them, you can see the one on the left still has the crap all over it,

Tracing them out, getting ready to cut out,

Cutting them out,

And finally getting around to riveting them onto the frames,

Enjoy!

So back a few months ago when I was working on these, I was telling my dad how it was gonna save weight, and this was about the 10th thing i had showed him "for losing weight" and my dad said...

"Why are you worried about all this weight, those axles can hold goliath" LMAO, ok ok I get it dad you don't care. haha

Needless to say I saved 4lbs FML

Edited.... planning to tip the scales under 6,000lbs

My curiosity is how many scratches will quickly accumulate in lexan. I know lexan is better than normal plexiglass, but it still fogs/scratches over time.

I was wondering the same thing.

Do you have a build thread for all this weight savings? I am curious as to how far you are going to go. Stripped interior, fiberglass body, etc.

Dude honestly I think it's gonna scratch to hell and back, but I don't ever look out those windows anyways. Thats the reason I haven't pulled the film yet, that will be the last thing to do. lol

Thanks and,
Depends on what class I'll be running in, but thats why I snagged some MRW wheels, those plus 44's will be 175lbs ea.

My 53's and the rims I'll be getting weigh 550lbs ea. (what I'll drive on the street, to get the groceries )

I also feel like the 23.1x26 r2's (65"v-treads) will weigh the same as the 53's

I've got my rear rock rebuilt and the fronts coming, but their around the same weight as my dana 60's

the Ideas of stripped interior is not to far off, so don't hint the words to often, lol... But I feel I could MAYBE, and thats a strong maybe, get 5,499lbs with stripped interior.

Too far out man to really know, but I've been toying the idea of leaving the front off and running skins front and rear. The rear already fiberglass so there light, and I'll use a bed liner as the floor, since I'm removing the skeleton of the bed.

Those doors will be getting stripped, and gutted, maybe window nets? just talking out loud... This would be for comp. only, I have to get a set of '99-'03 doors for my '00 harley panels to fit on, need it to look good when I Mall crawl and poser it.

Then you have all the small things,
ss Rollpan
ss mirrors
no abs
fuel cell
no evap
no egr
aluminum hardware
any unneeded wires are being pulled
dash skeleton is gone
no a/c <-might be changing my mind here, not sure yet

Basically putting attention to detail, anywhere possible

theres my build on Pirate, All it takes is time and money, and I have plenty of time... lol
