Digital Odometer no show

My odometer has been only lighting up 1/2 the time. Some days I get in start her up and there she is... Most days not though. Even a few times I've got int, started her up, no odometer. Got where I was going looked down & she was on... weird...

I thought there might be a fuse but, why would the odometer be on a fuse by itself? (everything else is functioning properly)

It does however still count, even though it's not showing. At least I think it is. I wrote down the last mileage I saw when I parked & then later when it came back on I checked to see if it was different & it was.

Any idea's on why its working intermitantly?

It was a common issues. Both my F150's do it. It's a bad solder connection on the board. There is a write up somewhere on how to fix it. Search and you will find my friend.

Cool thanks for the reply. I guess I'll just deal with not having it. The only thing I cared about really was keeping up w/ oil changes but, I can do that by month since I drive pretty much the same distance each month. At least I know how to fix it if I get bored one weekend lol

its really not a big deal to fix. I did my truck right after I bought it infact thats how I found this forum. Takes maybe a couple hours to R&R the instrument cluster then just soldering the ground. Almost free..

Yeah I've pulled the cluster before in my '97 to replace bulbs... Was kinda thinking I'd wait till some of these go out & do it all at once haha! OR I guess........ I could just get some nifty replacement LED's and put in there while Im at it
