You have a low grade misfire, happens all the time. Just fix it.

Jim, why did you tell him?
A good ole racer like that should have known it's missing and it's not the transmission.
LOL.

I can tell you for sure that a flashing check engine light is not a fuel pump issue.
It is associated with a cylinder that is not firing and passing unburnt gas that is burning in the cats for that side hence the warning CEL flashing to that effect.
This is why we told you of a missfire.
The discription of dragging the truck through the gears was not helpfull.
Good luck.

so you're saying the problem is NOT from the absence of fuel, its the gas not igniting causing the "mis fire". That makes sense. So is it the rich o2 sensor that is telling the computer to flash the light? I am not running cat. converters. Is there something I could check to see if its the right or left bank that's causing the problem? (without pulling the plugs)

(and sorry for the lengthy description, just trying to be thorough, hoping someone may have had the EXACT problem.)

Why are you just now telling us your not running any cats?
What did you do with all 4 OX sensors?

Here is an example of someone coming on asking for help, does not give all the details of the changes made so accurate help might be given, then gets ticked off when challenged.
Good that he bowed out because this was not going anywhere with the attitude developing.
