Back in the saddle...again
Back in the saddle...again
In 1990 I bought a new F-150 XLT Lariat extended cab...loved that truck for 110,000 miles.
Then 'The Itch' struck...you know the one New-Truck-Fever! It was 2001 and I had just aquired my first Corvette...so I'm feeling 'BowTie' loyalty?
I had heard that Chevy was bring back the 327? Turns out the 5.4 litre was actually a 325, I think, but that is beside the point so I buy this Silverado standard cab.
3 weeks ago and 134,000 miles later lightning strikes a tree by the driveway..the charge (looking for a path to ground), finds the right rear wheel of the Silverado...then proceeds diagonally thru the truck exiting at the left front.
A few days later State Farm informs me the truck will be totaled! In addition to 2 flat tires and all the electronics the right rear frame rail and suspension has suffered overheating and had collapsed.
Now the good news...I am now the proud owner of a 2003 XLT Lariat Flareside and once again I am in Ford Country!
Chalk this one up to; Stay away from LIGHTNING!!
