I'm getting to dislike this door, second time it gave out. Is there anyone out there that can tell me where I could get the part without going to the dealer? Its a extended cab driver side, it must be the heat here, Plantation FL Thanks

 

What do you mean by broke? Is it the latch release?

 

Yes, I'm so pissed. The top latch let go, the cable is plastic and thin at the point that is held so the cable can be pulled. If I had a 97' there would be only one door to go.

 

I've never had any problems with my 3rd door, but then again it never gets used. lol

 

Mine gets used numerous times daily. Never heard of an issue like that. Weird. I don't know of any place outside the dealer other than a wrecking yard.

 

I could see it happening once, but twice is kinda odd... OP: are you sure it was properly installed the last time?

 

I know things with this truck are strange, I was lucky to find the door crack(driver side) before the warranty ran out. I won't know if I screwed up until it gets opened up. I did find a place to save $12 plus on the part, Ford Direct Online, I got site threw this forum. Some people went to some different ways to fix this, they were so old posts. Thanks for the help, and replys
