Body Swap?

I need help. I have a 2004 F150 Heritage, dedicated CNG. This is basically the 2003 model, but it is a 2004. It is a regular cab. I would like to swap the cab from an extendedcab or crew cab onto this frame. The reason is that the car is certified solo carpool lane access, but I would much rather have the 2003-2004 extended or crew cab. If there is another alternative that will still result in the truck being titled as a CNG car in California, I am also open to options. Thanks for any suggestions/cost estimates. I will NOT be attempting this myself.

the CNG refers to natural gas (propane...sort of) which is relative for the engine. Changing just the body shouldn't affect this with the exception of the VIN plate info and the tank re-fill parts

The frames are different. Even if you swap cabs you will lose the certified access because then the VIN goes with the cab and you will have to jump through hoops to even be able to title it. As it will no longer have a clean title, but would be rebuilt..

I don't need a clean title. I will drive this truck into the ground. It's worth a fair amount to me to be able to have the truck I want (I'm sure you all understand that).

Then if thats what you want, just find a blown up scab and swap the powertrain and electronics

frames are different under the back of the cab, and the length of the frame under the cab

CNG = CompressedNaturalGas

BTW- Propane is LPG LiquidPetroleumGas and isn't the same as CNG.

I always thought natural gas was sort of like propane. Now that I am finally home for a few days, I guess some researchin' is in order

you can do a custom cut frame and back half yours.

or swap your powertrain into an extended cab

or your best bet is just sell yours and buy what you're looking for
