egr line

I am totally confused. I'm replacing the blown egr line from the valve to the exhaust manifold.
I managed to break loose the nut at the egr valve easily. Now for the confusing part.
I removed the old line. The bottom flare on the old tube is missing the collar. There must be some sort of adapter from the exhaust maniford that would end with a male thread that the flare nut on the new tube assembly would tie into.
Has anyone run into this before?

To clarify the above post.
Can anyone tell me what are the fittings that connect the exhaust maniford to the egr line?

Now I've found out it is called an egr adapter. It looks impossible to remove and replace. I understand its a dealer part also.
Anyone have any luck with this?

Well, I'll give you some info, even tho I shouldn't and most won't even reply when you don't tell us "model year" and "engine size".

They're all different at that connection and both V8's have completely different set ups/adapters.

A 5four uses a 5four adapter and a 4six uses a smaller like nipple adapter. The 5four is more custom than the 4six, meaning , -you CAN repair the 4six with pipe thread parts from the hardware. The 5four, that's a dealership or salvage yard part.

I'm sorry I forgot to give the details of my truck.

I guess I was in the panic mode when I got a look at the exhaust manifold job. It's really rusted and corroded. I managed to fix it. I machined a sleeved fitting with my lathe and press fitted it in place. It does the job.
