hand painted pin striping removal

well i think im finally sick of the hand painted pin striping on my truck. Problem is im scared of shadows and hurting my near perfect paint. it fading in a couple places but im pretty sure its been on for 10 years now and just was looking to see what you guys think.

I think it looks good. The only thing I don't care for is the tailgate striping.

I fixed your spacing.

Im not a body expert, but i dont think you can just removed hand painted stripes, wouldnt they be under the clear coat?

there not. i used clear safe rubbing compound and they started to come off with little effort but not all the way off. its def on top of the paint kinda crazy i dont know what to do....... with out leaving shadows..

All the car shows I watch always show the hand painted pin stripes being added last over top of the clear coat. If that is the case on your truck you should be able to wet sand them off or use compound and then polish the whole truck. Unless your a pro I would take it somewhere. A good detail shop should be able to handle this.

If you choose to tackle it yourself start on the tailgate. If you screw that up it would be easy to pull it off and have it repainted.

Use easy off oven cleaner for painted pinstripes. Tape up the plastic parts so it doesn't get on them. Let it sit for a couple mins then wipe it off.

x2 on this - it's in a yellow can/top

Note that when I did this it DID leave a "shadow" as the paint underneath the painted pinstripes is basically "like new" condition as far as being non-faded. GL and post pics

well heres some before and afters quality of the pic isnt the best but it works. qven cleaner worked great.
