2001 Super Crew won't start No Power

I searched several threads, but I didn't find anything that fit my problem. I went in the store on the way home from lunch. When I came out my truck didn't start and kinda clicked and it sounded like it was coming from the dashboard. I tried again and NOTHING, no power at all! I don't live far away, so I walked home and got another vehicle. I put the cables on and NOTHING, not even a dome light! I tried to move the battery cables and they were tight. Moved the jumper cables and I never got any kind of power. My truck is stranded at Wal-Mart until I get off of work. Any ideas? I am stuck!!

Bad connection most likely. Happens allot down at the starter.

Just to clarify, a bad connection at the starter would cause it to lose all electrical power? Because I get nothing...even with cables. That's great if it is just that.

A shorted cell in the battery can cause these symptoms (even with the jumper cables). Try a new battery (or swap the one from your other vehicle to test).

Start with the connections. Have the battery TESTED first before replacing anything.. Depending on where you live the starter connection can rust clean off. Especially in snow/salt states..

So, I hate it when someone starts a thread and then never returns to finish it....so here I am. When I had the battery replaced at WalMart about 6-8 months ago the guy broke my positive cable getting it off. He replaced it. What I didn't realize is that he replaced it with a clamp-on type. He had used electrical tape and taped around the end. So, when I was moving the cable to check if it was tight, little did I know that the cable had come completely out of the crappy clamp-on type of post and was inside the electrical tape where I couldn't see it!!! I put a new, heavy duty kind on from O'Reilly's and everything is great! It even cleared my check engine light. I sure am glad I was only 300 yards from my house and not somewhere out in the New Mexico desert (which is basically any place outside the city limits for 100 miles or more)! Thanks for the help.

He might still be in the parking lot. Cell phone might be dead by now.

LOL!!! I'm the one that started the thread! I was just coming back to say that I had resolved the issue! Definitely not sitting in my truck in this 107 degree heat!!
