are there freeze plugs in the rear block of a 98 ..4.2?
I just did a valve job on a recently acquired 1998 F150 4.2. I am not a mechanic but had one (neighbor) advising the whole way. He is not available for a while and I need to know if there are freeze plugs in the back of the block. I had lots of water in the oil, thus my neighbor and I determined it was due to gaskets since the engine runs without noticeable damaged engine noise. This was my deceased dads truck which bequeathed to my neglectful brother who ran the hell out of it overheating, probably continuously. Anyway..I did the valve job, got it all back together, new gaskets, torqued in correct sequence all excited and installing all new fluids and suddenly water is almost pouring from what looks like behind the engine up high, not anything you can see but a serious leak...hoping there are freeze plugs and if so can the be replaced without removing the block...wow..quite a story..hope someone can help..thanks..my first post
