starter or something else?
starter or something else?
well ive been having this problem since i got my truck. now its worse.
when i first got the truck last January, the starter hung a little bit when started. but that problem stopped. then about once every 2 months it wouldnt start. id have to get out and unplug the battery terminal and plug it back in and it would start. so i eventually cleaned my terminals and they're like new now. but im still having the same problem, and the terminal fix dosent work. ill get in, turn the key and it'll just click click click. the battery has a full charge. and after a while it will eventually start.
its weird, i know, but is it battery or starter related?

Get yourself a Haynes book and look on page 12-17 at the start circuit.
From the ignition switch through the transmission range selector to the starter motor relay.
The relay pulls up heavey contact to run the starter motor.
You have burnt contacts in the start relay, faulty cabling or the starter motor stops on a dead comutator bar and can't get going.
The click you hear is the relay coming up but nothing is happening after that so figure where to look for the trouble.
Good luck.
