spare tire key to lower tire

spare tire key to lower tire

What a pain! Hard to get the little socket to seat on the key. What's the trick?

start 90* to the crank arm, and roll it onto the end of the crank arm

The trick is to keep the tire in the bed so you don't have to go through that mess...I do what Pat said

Really? Mine must be different? They might of been in 98. Just shove it in the hole and crank. Strong suckers tho, - curious, if you could use it for a emergency winch; perhaps to get yourself out of a bind. (?) Yea, it's not very long , but it might be enough. Uknow, wrap a spare chain around a tree and hook to it.

Ah, never mind, just a thought, forget it lol.

Mine came with the stupid locking key, similar to a lockable lug nut. Mine was also missing the nice black plastic guide that helps line it all up from the bumper to the winch, so mine was a complete PIA until I took the winch off and removed the locking part of the winch receiver.
