Duplicolor Spray-in Liner on Plastics???

Hey guys,

I've seen some pics online of guys spraying their bed caps, flare side steps, etc with the Duplicolor Spray-in bedliner cans and I thought it looked really good.

My question is has anyone ever used it on plastics and how well does it hold up due to the flexing sometimes with the plastics? I've painted a bunch of plastic pieces before on the truck and I'm pretty confident with my prep work. I sand everything and I use Bullydog adhesion promoter before I prime. I just don't know if this stuff will crack and flake off.

Thanks

A couple of years ago I use it on my bed caps. After a couple of months it was horrible, the sun basically baked it off as it became so brittle. You could literally wipe your hand across it and it would come off on your hand. If your gonna do this I would try it with rustoleum bed coating as it seems most of the guys on here are having good luck with it.

Thanks for the response...That's pretty much my answer then. I'll go another route

I have used Matte black krylon fusion on all of my plastic pieces with only roughing up the plastic a little as prep. They have all faired well, but occasionally I have to heat up the plastic to return the dark black color to it. The plastic dries out on the surface fairly easily.

You and me both man. I recall taking apart a lot of pieces under the hood just so I could paint them black again, and I constantly clean under there. Thing is, I live in the country so there really is no point because one trip down the driveway ruins it

i actually did my upper pad on my front bumper with the stuff and its doing well since i did it in feb of 2010. i also did the kick panels inside the cab with it to match the floor and other than some scuff from boots theyve held up well.
