Built Ford Tough

Recently my truck was involved in an accident. My gf decided to take it to work and on her way home hit an impala. The impala decided to blinker one way and turn the other, right into her lane. The impala's headlight actually flew out of her car and was in the middle of the road. Just wanted to see what you guys had to say. Quoted damage to my vehicle was just a hair over 2000. The other I believe was totaled.

It really isn't that bad to be honest if it didn't screw up my fog light I probably wouldn't ever notice. 97madness yours did come out allot worse then mine. Were either of the vehicles drivable after the accident?

The van took off up the road, a guy followed him and got the plate info luckily. I was able to move mine, but the bumper was up against my front wheel.

This reminds me of the time when I saw an accident that involved some small foreign suv (think it was a honda) and a ford excursion. The suv rearended the excursion and the suv's front end was smashed in completely. The ford had a small dent in the back.

It really is a night and day difference between the build of some vehicles. The tech that did the estimate for me looked at the damage to my vehicle, and said I hate to see the other guy lol. My bumper was against my tire too but i bent it out with a floor jack so all good for now. Just hoping the lady who caused the accident's insurance will pick up the 2g tab.

Your girlfriend should go see a doctor about her neck and back, just in case the insurance company does try to get out of it, if you catch my drift.

Its sad that it comes to that, but everyone is trying to make a buck today, even insurance companies. Make sure they use all brand new OEM parts too, not cheap aftermarket.

The parts list is aftermarket parts. As far as I am aware they are not made in china, they're form a company in or around Minneapolis. He told me with a vehicle so old original parts aren't easy to come by, but I really don't know anything about body work.

I get your drift, I was involved in an accident about a year ago a Chevy rear ended a past pickup of mine. Both vehicles where totaled, but the insurance companies put 80 percent blame on me because I had the lesser coverage so damages would come out of my pocket and not either of theirs. Got a lawyer got it solved, but lesson learned don't trust corporations and have tons of coverage.
