Sorry I never have the chance to get on this thing anymore. I went yesterday morning before work to get the tires put on, and the guy at discount tire told me he wanted $300 to put the tires on so after arguing with their manager about how rediculous that price was I up and left. I drove over to another tire and wheel shop that does mount/balances for a offroad truck shop (OF ALL PLACES), but they said they couldnt balance those tires because they are too big. I left that place laughing at the guy, so I called up 4 wheel parts and they said they would install all four mounted and balanced for $100. They were too busy for this weekend and I have an appointment set for tuesday morning at 9:30. Sorry, I dont have any pictures for you guys. I had work,a wedding(NOT mine-thank God), trip to corpus, and a stupid window tint ticket I had all packed into this weekend. The tires weren't on the top of the list. And seeing as how I survived the rapture yesterday , I am doing the best I can to get them on.

There are plenty of places that make 37s or 38s for 16s still. Actually, you can get toyos for 16s in a 37 way cheaper than for 18s. I bought my tires from a place called buywheelstoday.com.

I wish I could say that. I swear, people will try to gouge your eyes out for money wherever they can. I have been saying I was going to get 37s for a long time now, and I just finally did because I found a price I liked. I wasnt going to let the mounting price ruin the price I bought them for.

I would still be running them but i bought the 41's from off road magazine, they used them for testing then sold them off, ended up making around 800 dollars getting these tires and that i will never complain about. Check the link about below for the non-believers. Jerrod Jones drove down in meet me in San Diego in that truck.....at the time it was on 40's and my truck on 38's sat around 3 inches taller. Long story short he was suppose to come back and get the rims and after over a year never did so i had no use and didnt want to bring the all the way back to va so craigslisted them.

Okay, so the toyos do last a long time then? I posted a picture of them on my facebook just for the heck of it, and some guy got on there saying they suck and that I would be lucky to get 12k out of them. I was really hoping that was not true. Thats way too much money to spend more often than I have to change spark plugs.

I'd really like to know how that offroad shop stays in business if they can't even balance offroad tires

I want to say I had atleast 25000 if not more. When i went to sell them they still had atleas 30% tread left. As long as you take care of them they will last.

They have customer volume for cheap labor rates and wholesale lift kit pricing I would assume. Most people who buy lifts buy wheel and tire packages also, which usually come pre-balanced and mounted.

I know! I am going to have to keep myself from sticking the skinny pedal to the floor with these ones.

Well, I would be glad if I got 25-30k out of them. For me, that would mean I would have had them on my truck a good 4 or 5 years.

I really hope thats the case. My truck will have these tires on it forever if I can get 50k out of them.

I wonder if they still shave the rubber. I had to go to different shop for both 40's and 44's. If I recall, the 38.5's were narrow enough to high speed balance somewhat normally. The 40's were 17" wide and the 44's were 18.5" inches wide, they had to shave those to balance.

Yeah- I dont know. I was told they needed to be road force balanced. I dont know if thats the same thing as high speed balancing. I looked on a few different websites and supposedly toyos are really easy to balance for being big tires. I am beginning to think the guy from discount tire was just clueless.

He seriously told me, "Why would we cut you a deal on mounting these tires when you didnt even buy them from us?" I can understand it costing $100 but charging $300 is getting away with murder. Thats hardly cutting a deal

Yea, I don't recall it costing near that much to mount and balance. Maybe 30 or 40 bucks if that. I remember them having to pull the safety guard of the machine tho lol.

It only cost me 100 to mount and balance my tires on my 20" rims and they were 35" tires. It took them 1 entire day tons of lube and 3 tire machines as they broke 2 of them trying to get them on and I did buy the tires from that shop either. They shouldn't charge you more because you didn't buy the tires from them that's bs
