multi function switch problems

Hey guys. If anyone has any experience with the multi function switch, (ghost wipers) I would appreciate it. I tried the diy fix posted on here, but didn't work. Today I put in a new switch, but pretty much same problem. wipers are on when they shouldn't be. I dielectric greased the new switch, but that didn't fix it either. What other culprits are there to these stupid things???

I'd pull the GEM and inspect the terminals. There will be evidence here if the GEM has been compromised. Usually a white ring of corrosion or other signs of it.

Other than that, I probably would have replaced the switch as well. I had one replaced in my 99 way back when. Ford changed it out under warranty tho. That whole deal, multi -switch, arm and what not. They gave me the old part back, that's how I knew lol. I'm not sure how you could test that one out. It wouldn't be easy.
