Should I get 60/40 bench or Expy buckets and console?

I have an XL with the stinky ol' bench seat. I thought I wanted to swap it to a 60/40 bench, but now I'm reconsidering for the Expy swap. I've found both here at local junkyards (the Expy driver's seat is power, so I'd need to run wires). What's everyone's opinions here? I'm looking at both comfort, and ease of install. Obviously easier not to have to run wires, but is it worth it in order to have buckets and that console?

Some of the F150's came with buckets, I have them. Do you have a regular cab or ext?

I have an extended cab. I can't find F150 buckets at any junkyard, but for some reason there are quite a few Expeditions. I know several people on here have done the Expy swap. Just wondering if it's worth the extra work with the wiring to do that.

If i recall correctly, the wiring up of a power seat isn't that bad. I can't recall the member on here that has done it though. :o

I vote for the Expy swap

I just looked under my bench, and there are two sets of wires with a connectors just laying free under there? Does that mean I'm already wired for power seats?

I put a 60/40 in my XL, thinking in a pinch I could carry three people. I now wish I'd gone w/ the buckets ...

I've had the truck for over 2 years, and I've only had 6 people in their once...for 5 minutes. Looks like I'm gonna be going after these buckets. Hope they're still there in the morning

Okay so I'm at the junkyard, and I can't get to the two bak bolts because of the power seat. What are my options here? I read on another post about someone bringing a battery to power the seat forward in able to get to the bolts, but I'm not sure what to hook the battery up to. Everything under the hood of this expy is gone

The plug to the seat should only be two wires. One is black and that's your ground to the negative terminal. You will need to make some sort of leads from battery to the plug. Don't worry about powering the whole truck, you won't be able to.

What are they asking for a seat at your yard? I can only find one yard near me and they want $75. And I only need parts.....

They want $40 per seat, and $25 for the console. But so far, I can't even get the freaking console out, or the driver's seat, so it's not doing me much good. Another junkyard wants $125 for the 60/40 split bench. That's looking more and more appealing as I sit here in this yard trying to figure this crap out.

How do I get to the green and black wires? I brought a lawn mower battery in case I would need to do this, but I'm not sure how to get to the wires in order to hook them to the battery

Okay Silfox, followed your suggestion, power seat out. Thanks!

Now on to the console. The instructions I've seen said once you unscrew the front bolts, lift up, and slide to the rear. However, thing isn't budging...at all
