YES I know personally how that feels cause i used to run my parents shop and people do that all the time one time we had a guy that would call up our parts store saying he worked for OUR SHOP and they told him the discounted price and he called us and says hey i found the part at your part store (tells us how much it is) then i called them and they said we just had someone call about that part from you guys. well i call the customer back and say i cant do it for that price if you want it cheaper bring your own parts and of course since you make the mechanics mad you MARK THE HELL UP ON THE LABOR. well i also told the customer that there is no warranty on the part which means if it goes out you got to pay for us to take it out. just to let all of you know we usually dont mark up labor its just that this guy did what he did SEVERAL times this time it was just a BIG ticket

Is your odometer and trip meter messing up too that you can tell? What exactly is happening to it.

Your plugs will have no impact on the speedometer. You probably have an issue with the vehicle speed sensor

well my friends speedometer was going up and down randomly, and he replaced all his spark plugs and never had a problem since then so idk... and its just the spedometer, and its kinda shaking back and forth as i accelerate, and i know for a fact that it starts moving more as i speed up cuz today it said i was going 90 in a 75 and people were passing me and i accelerated just to see and when i hit 100, it didnt feel like i was even close to 100... there was no shaking or anything..but at slower speeds, >60, it seems to be fine ad telling me the accurate speed... and my trip meter did actually go off today a couple times, the readings and numbers didnt go crazy, but the lights went off and back on a few times..

Lights went off and then back on sound like a problem in the cluster. I remember reading something about a fix for this, but can't remember as I have the 97 with analog meter. Do a search on here and then read, read, read

Sounds more like a bowel issue rather then a plug issue.

but... i got totally screwed over by the people i bought it from...
we paid 4000 for it, it had 227k on it.. rebuilt trans dec 09 and we were promised that the brakes and rotors were replaced last year and were just fine... it came with 22"rims and tires worth about 1700 new, a 6" navi system, 8k HIDs, Smoked Altezza tails, and a SI/DO aftermarket exhaust that i still havent taken time to figure out what it actually is....
if you have any questions about why i had to get any of these parts, just ask haha...
in the 6 weeks ive had it....
Front brake pads+labor - 119.95 Your mech should have seen this
Front rotors - 195.26 Your mech should have seen this
Bearings+labor - 82.18
Front Wheel Seals - 12.40
255/70R16 Kenda Klever - 524.00
10 lug nuts - 34.80
2 wheel studs - 13.96
differential service with free labor - 36.00
2 license plate markers - 22.02
REBUILT TRANS+labor+fluid - 1227.00
rear main seal with free labor - 52.53
caliper bolt - 5.25
things i NEED to get done as soon as i get enough money:
Valve Cover Gaskets+labor - 312.61 They do not leak unless removed
fuel injection service +half labor - 29.95 Why?
full tune up including plugs and wires - 288.73

OK... so after all that, plus tax and little fees here and there (disposal fees and whatnot) it comes out to an awesome grand total of.....
3208.23 in 6 weeks...oh not to mention an oil change including oil/air/fuel filters because all 3 were clogged full of crap... the worst thing is 99% of these things are repairs.. not maintenance... and its bull... but... in the end... i still love my truck...
Your mechanic should have also seen the clogged air filter. With that knowledge you could have negotiated a lower price. The transmission is a crap shoot so it could have lasted a long time if the first shop had not screwed over the kid. But I understand that you needed a truck. So everything is now on track and all that is left is to go out and enjoy your new truck.

they knew all the stuff you pointed out, and my dad tried for 30 minutes to get them to negotiate on the price but it was retarded and we were frustrated from looking at so many other trucks so we just took it.. and why did you put "why?" on the injection service
