EGR Problem Trust Me It's a new issue and I need Help!

I have an 02 5.4 and was planning on cleaning the throttle body when changing IAC. When it came time to take off the EGR... looks like some Florida(area I live, not surprising) cheap fix-it monkey, JB Welded it to the TB! Don't know what to do. HELP!

see if you can get a little bit of solvent on it without destroying anything else. Let it sink in for a big, reapply, wait some more, and then get a putty knife behind it if you can.

I think I'll opt-out and not happy about it but, pony up for new ones. No telling what's in there when I get them apart. No issues beyond that, so I think I'll play it safe and just put new ones on. I love this truck and want things to be decent in there. Never had anything like this on anything I've owned before. Thanks everybody.

If I were in the country I have a spare one I would be willing to sell you, but I won't be back for another couple months.

I can do that for you. I have a whole metal intake assembly that I won't be using. I picked up an eaton supercharger and am building that for my truck. And yes I am in the military. I will be getting back in the end of may sometime it is looking like right now.

Whatever is JB welded, it is JB welded to the elbow not the throttle body. Remove the elbow and replace it with a junkyard part. The EGR valve can be purchased for $60.00 new at a parts store. This is not an expensive nor a complicated fix.

My apologies JMC and thankyou, it's the elbow not the actual TB, it was just an unexpected find and I didn't add that detail. I was just going to clean the whole TB assembly and came across it. Didn't know what to expect when I found that. Been looking for just the elbow and it's been bugger to find a used one. The junkyards in my area have been kinda weird about f150 parts for some reason. Thanks for the advice.

It's not Jb'ed - I've seen those things so stuck on there, you have to bean them with a hammer a few times to get it apart. Maybe more than a few times, -if yuh hit like a fruit cake

You must hit like a fruit cake since you mentioned it?

I can see the stuff out of the lower end of it, that's how I knew it was JB. Good point though, but I already tried giving it a few good wacks, even though I do hit like a fruit cake. Had my sasquash buddy give it a one two and nothing. Also it depends on how long it's been around. Somenone threw an old fruit cake at me once and socked me in the eye. Man that hurt.
