noise from rear end, and a hard down shift into first

noise from rear end, and a hard down shift into first

I just rebulit my tranny and put everything back together, a month has gone by now when im down shifting into first gear its a little hard what could that be from. Also about a week ago i have a clicking noice from the rear end and its not the u joints i replaced them but its from the same place any ideas? If any knows what it could be please i would love to know Thank you very much

I assume we are talking about a manuel trans? If it is hard going into 1st it could be a sign that the cllutch is dragging a little.

How is the fluid in the master? Is it full/clean. Might be something as simple as air in the line and needs bleeding. An air bubble would make it act like the clutch isn't pushed all the way down.

As for the clunk at the rear-check the pinion nut for tightness, the noise may be comming from the yoke. Also check that none of the bolts have loosened up from the u-joint job.

Just throwing stuff out there, hope it's simple.

Try to have someone listen to check where the clickings comming from. Could be D-shaft grease issue?

thats my fault it an automatic trans. and its only happening when im slowing down to stop or to take a turn and thats when i hear the clicking.
