03 F-150 U Joint problem

Boy did I mess up today. This is what happens when you try and rush to get a job done.

In the process of trying to HAMMER my u joint out from my drive axel, I created a dent (size of a cadberry egg) and the balance (I think thats what it is) fell off as well. After I completed the job I took her for a ride and as I expected I get a little vibration at 70mph. My question is can I tack weld that piece back on? It happen to be right at where I dented the drice shaft so I do not think it will be the same or do I need to replace the drive shaft? If so should I go used or new?

Boy I feel stupid!!!!

Pull the shaft and take it to a driveline shop and have it rebalanced.
