hey guys got the wish list fixed upp to work towards this summer

first of all the wish list-
n-fab wheel to wheel steps.
pre runner light bar which i have a ? about.
depo clear fogs- i have the link just gotta get the money
lightning heads and corners- got the link just need the money
3 inch pa body lift and gap guards.
37x13.50 toyo open countrys
4.88 yukon re gear.
programmer with custom tunes

this is alot for a 17 year old working in the summer unfortunately. so pretty much start at the bottom of the list and thats what im gonna do first cause i wana re gear before jumping to 37s... the things hopefully ill get done throughout next school year is the hole under body ( frame and all ) painted black so no rust shows. and from then out itll be just little odds and ends ill do till i decide to mess around in the engine compartment.

well thats not exactly how she sits. anyways the mods are -5 inch rcx 35 nitto trail grapplers obx lts high flow cats 4 inch tips. its a 5.4 4x4 97 model lariat ls 9.75 rear off road package i believe maybe towing package not sure came stock with 17s still has 17s just nicer 17s lil info about the truck

i worked bought and paid for ALL of those mods last summer and still had money for gas so that might tell you my budget after summer.

so thats the wish list hopefully this summer ill have a transformation thread going... but now for some questions

the light bar.. ive looked at n-fabs and they have three lights on theres. well theres a guy on here whos names bigtruck311 and his trucks pretty much what look ill have besides the color a lil smaller and narrrower wheels... does anyone know what pre runner light bar he has cause it only has two lights and thats as many as i want i dont want 3.

am i leaving anything out thatll ill need for these mods?

and any comments would be appreciated! thanks guys for all the help

also after i get the body lift ill have to get my hangers on the exhaust adjusted right? and how much does that usually run?? sorry forgot that one

 

For the body lift you'll have to have the exhaust rebent so it turns out correctly, not just the hangars adjusted.
As for the prerunner light bar I'm running one that has two lights, buts its a full replacement bumper not just a bolt on bar. It all depends on the style you want I'll try to look around for some links to one like bigtruck311's.

 

You are looking for the pro comp light bar I believe. It has 2 tabs on it for lights. I'll try to find a link...
Edit: I don't think they make them any more. You could modify the nfab one if you can weld. I will still try to find one with 2 tabs

 

great lookin truck i did a body lift on my truck. i did it in a weekend with a buddy of mine. im 18 and it was easy for me. The Gap guards i had to trim a little but they work great. i also painted the wheel wells to match too and as for the hangers i went to autozone and got shorter hangers and swaped them out untill i bought glass packs there was a little gap but not much.

 

thanks for all the responses guys..... i could do the welding no prob as im hoping to learn reallly soon.. but im not gonna have a black one probably my wheels are polished stainless steel and i have no black on my truck besides the lil on the mirrors so i dont think black would look so good. so if i welded it of had it welded it wouldnt look right would it?? im not sure. ill keep looking for a 2 tab one. if i could just get the dimensions and such for it i could probably have a local body shop im close with fab me up one. im not worried about the small exhaust gap although i would much lke my tips to be located in the same place cause the guy who did the angles put them at a perfect 45 degree.. ( ive had 3 exhaust none have been this good of a bend ) so i could probably just get him to re do it. it might be the bigger tips make it look better but anyways ill look and if yall get any links just throw um my way

 

Forget the lightbar and just put a 99-03 bumper and grille on it.

 

na. that might be one of the things one day but i doubt it i like the bumper on the 97-98s they are unique and i like it. maybe one day but doubt it.

Hey man im in the same boat as you. Same age trying to find good deals. Where do you work and what do you? Just curious. I wanna know how you make that kind of cash for that truck. I got lucky with a 95. Good solid truck. Clean. I work two jobs. Both part time during school year. I work at mcdonalds nights closing on weekends and weekdays for about 7.40 and a farm about 45 minutes away for 10 an hour. I work the farm full time during summer. Usually wake up at 530 and go to the farm, work til 6-7, come home and go close mickeys at midnight. Wake up and do it again. Get a half day off each week.

and about the working i work for a local oil company mow lawns and work on saturdays from time to time.. 10 dollars an hour at the oil company 50 dollars a yard.. our summer break is 10 weeks dont know if thats longer or shorter than yours. plus for christmas and birthday i generally just get money for my truck and the oil company paid for my gas this summer so i really didnt have any cash going out till the school year started... try getting on with a roofer they make more money than me. its what im gonna try to do this year. its hard work but i dont mind. gotta get a dollar somehow..

and six how much of a gap is inbetween your tires and the wheel well woth the 3 inch body and the 5 inch suspension on 35s? cause theres no doubt ill get enough for the body lift cause i already have enough i just dont spend money till i make money understand?? and if its not to big of a gap i was gonna go ahead and put the body lift on.

on the links i think ill stick with the rcd light bar ... anyone recommend the black or stainless? im thinking stainless cause i have no black on my truck where everything thats not white or tan is stainless so i was thinking stainless and maybe having some of the parts of the light bar painted tan to make it go with the truck? opinions??

 

It depends how much you wanna spend polished stainless is about 100 more. But you could also do black, prime it, and paint any color you want to match the truck. I'm not sure how tan would look but black would also give it a nice color offset so it stands out if thats what your looking for. Eitherway I'd probably get black and if you dont like it paint it silver, or white, or tan or any other color you prefer haha

 

i can get exact measurements monday for you. but i got the body lift first, and then got the suspension with the intensions of running 37's+. i have my t-bars about as low as they can go so i dont sit so high over the 35's. my cv axles are perfectly straight.

i didnt think about painting it tan of anything. geez so many more variables now lol. thanks for the opinion ... i might go down to the local body shop and ask their painter hes got the coolest ideas and has been in one magazine as the youngist artist to fit i think it was 50 colors on one truck. ( it actually looked good if your into street trucks but im not ) so i might ask him. i was planning on painting my rockers max 4 camo beens max 4 is about the same shade as the tan a lil lighter but idk. any opinions on that??? if i did that id have to figure out a color to paint my rocker panels and the bumper top. but then i could pull off the black and itd poen me up to not just having white and stainless and tan .... like i said idk i got a big imagination but i cant always picture what my imaginations gonna look like in real life lol and i cant find any trucks with the camo rockers and white truck.. opinions on that?
