Tow Hook Mounting Hardware Question

I have OEM front tow hooks coming (w/o hardware) but I don't have any pics of the hooks.

How many bolts per hook, size, length, etc. Anybody know? Use Grade 8 hardware I assume.

Thx

I used some grade 8 bolts when I added OEM tow hook to my XL (I don't remember the size/length). The factory setup has a plate w/ two threaded holes which slides into the frame for the tow hook bolts. I'm pretty sure I removed the valance to install the hooks, but this may not be necessary.

Tow hooks w/ grade 8 bolts ...

Thx Fairlaner! The photo explains it all. Yes, the lower valence appears to be in the way, but thats easy. Also, I don't think the end of the frame rails are boxed, so I should have good access.

The frame rails arent boxed, but you'll either have to cut through the valence or just take it off. Taking it off looks a lot better in my opinion you'll see the frame but it'll make the front look bigger

The valence covers just to the bottom of the frame rail (XT model), so I was thinking the tow hook would just stickout underneath the valence (with tow hook mounted to bottom of frame)...

I seriously need to figure out how to post pics...

He has an 03, so his valance doesn't cover the front of the frame rails where the hooks mount up like the 97-98's do.

Oh okay nevermind then, I forgot the valence was different. Still I recommend removing the valence and seeing if you like the look of it, I loved the way mine looked without it.

Yeah, but on the 99-03 the actual bumper is small so it shows basically everything and doesn't look too good.
