Why would you want to? The 99-03 bumper and grilles look 10x better!

97-98 had different bumpers and grill. The 99+ have the nicer contoured bumpers
They do fit, but most people with 97-98 swap to the newer bumper.

 

i like the look of the flood lights in the metal more than i do in the valance. but i also want to put a hidden winch kit on my truck will it still work with the 1999 "thin" Metal bumper? all the pictures ive seen with the kit have the 97 98 bumpers

 

Yes it will work and as long as you use the 97-98 4x4 bumper it'll look good. And swap the grilles also

 

why swap the grilles?

 

They have different shapes and the 99 grille dips down with the bumper but the 97-98 doesn't dip down in the middle of the bumper and will hit and not fit right

Nope. They're completely different shapes and all. Don't do it half *** IMO and swap the grille to if you do it

 

haha okay okay. know where i can get an all black vertical grille shell and all? im fixin to start shearchin for one but every little bit helps. im not gonna have to swap head lights og anything else too right ?

I think it might. The warn one mounts with the towhook bolts.

Yeah I've seen one mounted before on a 99-03 style, and they cut the center vertical bar out of the air dam and thats where the fairlead was installed.
