Need pics of lifted 2wd with 33s on stock rims

I am going to put a 6.5in spindle and spring lift on my sons 97 2wd ext cab. He is currently running 265/75/r16s . He wants bigger tires and I told him 33s (285/75/16) on stock rims will look good.

He wants new rims and to move up to 17s but money is an issue. He will need new tires before he can afford both tires and rims.

I was wondering if anyone has pics of 33s on stock rims, if on a lifted truck even better, so he can see what it will look like. I have searched quite a bit and have not found what I am looking for so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,
Barry

with 6.5 inch lift itd be better to go with 35s more expensive but looks better the space between the top of the wheel well and the tire wont be as much. im 17 and worked for all mine and i dont have a 6.5 or 6 inch i ended up going with a 5 inch rough country and got 35 inch nitto trail grapplers with 17 inch bullet hole wheels... i wish i had went with a six. if he goes with a six he will be bigger than most trucks around unless theres alot of lifted trucks but theres alot where im from and im the tallest at my high school well tied with a guy with a 6 inch fabtech and 33s.... so thats my 2 cents plus some heres a picture for your son to check out -Name: untitledi.jpg

I don't think that your stock wheels are going to work. For 16" wheels, the lift spindles call for 4 5/8 backspacing which the stock wheels don't have. I also second the vote for 35's, the 33's are gonna look way to small. If you are on a budget, check your area's craigslist for a set of wheels and tires. Sometimes you can find really good deals on there.

The guy I am getting it from has it on right now with the same stock rims I have. He bought the truck with the lift kit plus 3in BL and 35s but now wants it back to stock. It was an impulse buy because he really liked the look, but after 9 months it is not practical for him and his wife is sick of the high truck and stiffer ride.

He already sold the rims and tires (ugh they were nice and he sold them all for $140 and I missed out) and has stock rims and tires on now with no issues, except looking goofy. He is pulling the lift off this Sat and putting back on stock spindles, UCAs, and springs and I will pick them all up on Sunday and I hope to have it all installed by Sunday night.

Buxton91, What is the BS on your procomp 16x10s? All I find are 4.5in BS for the procomps. Stock Wheels have 4.5in Backspace so I think I should be OK.

rcxford617...With this being a 2wd, 6 in will not lift it as much as your 4x4 went with a 5in lift. I think stock 2wd is a bit over 2ins shorter than 4x4. I would love for him to get 35s but they are more $$$ and he would need new rims for sure.

Edit...BTW He has a 1.5in spacer in right now so I will only install the spindle and rear block for now as he only has 265/75/R16s on now. This will basically give him a 5 in lift, like a 3in on a 4x4. If he likes it enough like that after he gets the 33s we may keep it like that and sell the 3in lift springs and longer UCAs. The lift springs would only get him 1.5 inches more anyway as we would pull out the spacer.

Mine is lifted with spindles and springs. The tires are supposed to be 35's but they measure out to a 33.

Yeah my wheels are 4.5, but stocks are not 4.5.

Go to my albums and look at my pics from before i put my body lift on. That is when i had just 3.5" spindles and a level. It is a great setup for running 33's. After i added the extra 3" the truck still looked good, but I didn't like it and thought the tires looked way to small (and that was with 285's, I couldn't imagine with 265's). There should also be pics of that.

If you and your son decide not to use the control arms and springs shoot me a pm and I'd be glad to take them off your hands and help support his new tire fund!
