Oil pan gasket 2003 F150

Hi all, I have an oil leak around my entire oil pan. I've tried re-torquing the bolts to the specified 15 ft. lbs. it slowed down the leak to about 1/2 quart in between oil changes. I know 1/2 quart is not much but I would like to change the gasket.
I have read a few articles that say you must disconnect the cross member and motor mounts then raise the motor slightly.
I have also found this article which sounds much easier:
http://www.ehow.com/how_4508562_repl...sket-ford.html
I'm not trying to take shortcuts, Just trying to same some time. Has anyone here done it as the article says? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thak You.
Ps: I have a 2003 F150 supercab, w/ 5.4

Update... I do have a suspension lift on my truck and after crawling back under it it really looks like there will be enough clearence to just unbolt it and slide it out. I'm going to do this next Saturday, if there is not enough clearence I will remove the axle housing and drop the cross member. I do have quite a bit of mechanical knowledge, I'm an aircraft mech, and I also recently rebuilt the top end of my motor due to a blown head gasket. Hopefully I can finish it in about 4 hours.
