97 f150 stuck in 4x4 PLEASE HELP!!

This is what happend. I have electronic switch 4x4. At the begining of the winter, it didn't want to shift into 4x4. Eventually it did and no probs switching back to 2wd till now. We had a record snowfall and I was forced to go into 4 low. It didn't want to switch back for anything. There was no "click when I switched it to 4 high. I did the neutral-brake-switch. NOTHING. I replaced the shift motor and put it into 2wd before I put it back on.(That is what the motor was set at) It went right into 4 high and it is stuck there now. Again, no click behind the dash. First, is it possible to manually move the shift motor when it is off, so I can take it off again, put the truck into 2wd and reinstall the shift motor? Second, I really think it is my 4x4 control module. Where is that located exactly? When I reinstalled my motor, should I of had the battery disconnected? I will take any input. I've been scanning the forums for a couple of weeks and I can't find where this module is. I really think that is the root cause, but I could be wrong

Thanks

Sounds like you're shift motor has failed, it should be possible to remove the shift motor and manually make the shift with a wrench.

Note: there will be one wire that requires you to "open" the connector end and remove the pin for it. You'll see a single wire that runs into the t-case rear cover.
