Wanting Remote Start but have questions

Ok guys i want to get a remote start but dont really want to go with an aftermarket security system. If i get remote start do i have to get a after market security system? Basically wondering if they can add remote start and keep my factory system. I know i will have to have a aftermarket remote but was hoping it would still be mostly stock.

I bet there's a lot of Texans wanting remote starters after the cold weather you've been having.

I had a remote starter years ago in my old car, and like you said, it pretty much replaced my factory set up.

Sure you can. There are plenty out there that will integrate with your factory alarm with the proper integration module. For instance, the viper 5101 and 5301, and 5501 are all keyless entry/remote starts, but not alarms. The Viper fob will start, lock, and unlock your car, but your factory alarm will still work.

I still have my factory alarm working, even though I have. Clifford RSx 3.5. I can lock/unlock my truck with my factory remotes, my Clifford remote, and remote start with the Clifford.

I love it!
