1998 Expedition Seats in 2001 F150 SC

I know that there are a number of threads on this, but did not find exactly what I was looking for. I found a set of Captains Chairs out of a 1998 Expedition that has the seat belt attached to the side of the seat. My 60/40 has the seat belt mounted to the floor. Other than tapping new holes etc, any issues in swapping these seats out? Should I keep the original mounting points on the floor, or use the mounting points on the seats for the seatbelts going forward?

Second issue is that the driver side seat is electric and all the way back so I can't get to the mounting bolts. I plan on taking a battery with me and power the seat at the switch. Not much room under the seat and have not gotten the cover off the switches yet but does anybody know exactly where to jumper the switch to get power to it (basically does anybody know what it looks like under the cover)<G>?

Thanks for any help or insight.

Russell

They'll fit and you can just delete the seatbelts in the cab or keep them there either way. They'll bolt right in for you.

Iirc it's the black wire neg and then either dark green or dark grey that gets power.

Thanks for your help. I plan on going back and trying to get them out tomorrow. I then need to find a auto upholstry place to replace the foam and recover them, and I should be in good shape.

I went from floor mounted female seat belt on the pass side, to a bucket with a seat frame mounted female seat belt.

the reason ford uses floor mount on the 60% seat is the long frame would be too weak to have two full sized adults yanking on the seatbelts in an accident.

you will notice your drives side is mounted to the frame and the pass is on the floor.

Thanks again for the info. Got the seats out today ($60 for the set) and have started cleaning them up. Need to find a source for the covers (plan on keeping the stock look) and new foam (don't know what some of the stains are but the truck was wrecked so think I will start clean). Don't know if I can just order them from Ford, or would be better off taking them to a local upholstry shop. Anyway, plan on getting paint to match the trim to the interior color, get new upholstry and install them and the center console pretty soon.

Will do with the pics. Might take a little while to get everthing together. Need to find a local upholstry shop. Plan on going to the dealer tomorrow to get some paint and stain to start painting the trim parts.

If you are interested in covers I just got an account with Roadwire, they are the ones that dealerships use for leather upgrades. It's not a cover like you would get at a store, rather a replacement of the factory ones. If you are interested shoot me a PM with the year truck the seats came out of, which seats and what color they need to be, I'll get you a price.

Wasn't going to do leather, but when I get a chance to talk to the local upholstry shop I might hit you up on that. Thanks

Depending on the weather and timing tomorrow, I think I am going to pull the seats and do a test fit (will do pics if I get this done). I am trying to find a plastic paint that will color match my interior, but no luck so far with an exact match. SEM has a bunch of colors, but can't tell online from the color chart if any match. Ford does not seem to have the spray cans anymore and duplicolor does not have a match. Going to the auto paint store in the AM to see if they can mix up a batch.

Weather has not been good enough to work outside and the garage is full. Will get some pics and updates when the weather gets better.

I have some pics, hoping to do more work tomorrow. Need to make a wiring harness for the seats and the center console. I also decided to do the sound deadening while I had pretty much gutted the interior anyway. I created a photobucket account yesterday and have started uploading some pics. I will try to get a writeup and pics up here soon.
