I just bought my F150 XL with the 7700 package. It has the cloth 60/40 seats and carpeted floor. I'm told these were not original (but they look like they are). the driver's seat seems ok (not sagging from wear) but the front of the seat seems too high, pushing against the back of my thighs (and I have long legs). Is this normal or is something amiss in the seat ?

 

The first thing I thought when I test drove an F150 is that the seats were very high off the floor (which I like), compared to a Silverado where it feels like you're in a car. What do you mean "the back of your thighs"? Like your a$$? That's what happens when you sit down! I also felt initially that the seat sloped to far forward (I was used to my car with 12 way power seats and I would tilt the bottom of the seat up in the front to get my legs higher up), I feel like if I had leather and didn't have a seatbelt to restrain me I would slide right off of them, but I've gotten used to it. I have the 60/40 split with the seatbelt in the shoulder, I'm sure in the XL the seatbelt is on the frame? Those seats don't look as nice IMO. I'm also guessing that the seats and carpet aren't original, but who knows...

I noticed the awkward tilt feeling as well once I got rid of the XL bench. Guess it's just something to get used to. At least they have manual lumbar supports!

 

Those are the seats I have. I like them alot, I think they look great. Just need to fine one with power so I can lift the front end up a bit!

 

They are the factory seats. I have the same thing in my 03 XL, they are part of an optional package along with the carpets and a few other things like the tilt wheel and cruise control.

The front of the seat isn't too high - the middle of the seat has become compressed from a heavy ***.
