antifreeze leak?????

my 99 ford has a 4.6 in it that is leaking water from the back of the engine on the top by the intake manifold. i have read that it could be the heater pipe that runs underneath the manifold or the intake gasket itself. my question is if it is that pipe are there replacements that can be bought at the local parts store or is that something i have to go directly to ford for.???

It's not the heater core hard line behind the water pump. Not if it's leaking close t the top of the intake. Sounds like the intake return to me, - or just a hose.

I am guessing it is leaking on the passengers side just behind the #4 plug. First thing I would do is pull the #4 plug wire boot and see if your plug hole is full of antifreeze. If so I would look at the claps on the heater core hose just behind and above it, common problem and there was a service bulletion on it. If that is not where it is leaking, the heater hose connects to a metal tube that is bent like a L and goes down in to the intake on the very back.Be very careful with this tube as they do rust out and bust off even with the intake, and pretty much impossible to fix it with out pulling intake as the tube goes down in the intake about 2 inches.
