That is from a company that specializes in head repair after plugs blow out. They have done extensive testing and that is what they do. They say it can take much more than that.

A lot of mechanics don't bother with a torque wrench, they rely on their arm pull and can torque to 40-50 ftlbs with minimal effort (or so I've been told).

it's definitely easier with the rail out. if not pulling the rail, using a u-joint for 2 socket extensions worked.

Guess we'll have to pull the rail.

What part of OC? I grew up in Cypress, went to Los Alamitos High. Yearsssss ago. My mom still lives in Seal Beach.

Installed motorcraft plugs and went back to 6 of the 8 original motorcraft plugs( they busted 2 pulling the motor. I have put a couple of hundred miles on her and she runs like new. The NGK plugs I ran for almost 6 months didn't even look like they were used.
