howling noise?
howling noise?
My trucks making a weird howling noise, usually happens at any cruising speed and acceleration it will get a little louder. If i let off the gas it goes away. To me the sound seems to be comming from under the cab....its pretty loud sometimes. any ideas?
lol only wolf hangin on there is me, it already has a nice loud exhaust leak lol....
not sure how many miles on the Diff fluid we bought it used. it has 170k miles tho on the truck. dunno if this makes any difference but just noticed today that when going from drive to reverse it makes a pretty big clunk noise, and if u go back to drive from reverse it does it again but not as loud......i feel like this truck is about to to **** the bed......

Check the U joints for any play. I would change the rear diff fluid out. If it is a LS differential, its probably due for a change along with friction modifier. You can check the rear axle tag
also block the wheels, put trans in neutral and try to turn the driveshaft to check for play in differential. Definitely change the gear oil / modifier
Glad you have a sense of humor....... couldn't resist that one

Also check the rear mount on the tranny...they can separate...giving the "1 click and done "...when going from F to R & vise-versa. It could take out the U joints as well.
the howl...yeah, agreed, change the Diff fluid

Check for a wolf hanging on for dear life
