OIL PUMP LOCATION 2001 F150 Please

The oil light came on, the gauge went up and down for a while and it stays at 0 with engine noise, where is the oil pump located at?, am going to change the oil filter right now, thanks

Your oil pump is basically a ring around your crank, you'd have to tear your engine down to get to it. By that I mean the front cover with chains etc. if it's a 5.4 or 4.6. A 4.2 is a bit of a different setup but you still gotta rip a bunch off to get to it. I wish I had pics to show, go here: http://varsityfordparts.com/catalog.htm

and locate it. It sits on the crank snout and bolts to the block, not terribly hard to replace but if you do, replace the chains and tensioners etc around there as they're probably worn pretty good.

Have you changed the oil pressure sensor? Sounds like thats whats going on. Its a 7 dollar part, takes a few minutes to change. I would start there.

EDIT: Thought I read "With 0 engine noise." My bad. That sucks man. Good luck to ya.
