Fuel Pump/No start
Fuel Pump/No start
I have a 1999 4.9 6cyl that I'm trying to get running after a few years of neglect.
When I turn the key I do not hear the fuel pump running. I tried putting it into constant run mode by grounding the pin on the test connector and nothing happens. However, when I run power directly to it from the battery it does run fine. I checked the inertia switch and replaced the relay. What else am I missing or forgetting to check?

Does the relay work? If you put put your finger on top you should feel it click when someone turns the key.
Do you have power coming in to the inertia switch on the green wire? Unplug it and check for voltage.
Do you have power and a good ground at the pump? Unplug the pump and check voltage coming out of the harness while someone turns the key until the dashboard lights come on. The pink wire is hot and the black wire is ground. It should jump to 12v for a few seconds when the pump should charge the system and then drop to about half that.
