i was wondering if there is a way to fix the stiff pedal in my 98' f150 4.6 ext cab

Cable may be getting old and deteriorating. Check that all the way to the throttle body. Also might be a good time to clean your throttle body along with the butterfly valve etc.

Heres what mine looked like years ago when I did it.. (My throttle was sticky, it would hang up then smooth out)

Check the cable first. It's never a bad idea to clean up your TB either way. My truck ran so much better afterward. EGR ports were partially clogged.

 

I had this problem on my 97 and i used a special tool for cleaning cables on dirtbikes and it made an improvement, not like brand new but made the pedal way easier to push then what it was.
