GPS install?

I recieved a Garmin over the holidays, ordered the power supply cable that elimates the cigarette plug, basic +/- hook up.

I plan on mounting the GPS high on the windshield to the left of the rear view mirror.

I plan on sourcing power near the fuse panel and running the wire up the driver's side A-pillar and then above the headliner to the center of the windsheild?

Any tips? Any clips I need to know about?
Does the A-Pillar come out easily, or do other trim pieces have to be pulled to get that piece out?

If you pull the weather stripping from around the door you should be able to work it back there with out taking off the pillar trim. I know when I pulled the bluetooth mic out of my truck it was ran up there and I didn't have to take it off. Similar thing when I routed the wire for my wife's gps in our van except I didn't go up the pillar just up to the dash, mounted it on the left side of the wheel. You should be able to work it under the headliner with out taking it off also.

I would simply tuck around the trim, but the power cord has a small box, that contains a transformer or regular of sorts, so the trim actually has to be removed, Hopefully I will be able to slip the transformer above the headliner.

Any other input?

Where did you get the power supply harness from? I have a Garmin and have been wanting to do this.. i hate the cord hanging all over the dash and everything. I only use it for long trips, but would like to hard wire it so i can tuck the cord out of the way when not in use.
