Roof Rails

I need to replace my roof rails but how are they held in place it looks like some kind of rivet? any one know its a 2003 f150 xlt

It must be some sort of aftermarket set up. I'm not aware of any F150's in our generation (or any other for that matter) that came from the factory with roof rails. Is there any stamp of brand identification on them? If so, look them up on their website and see if there are some directions.

sorry i cant get pics its like when you door is open its above the waetherstrpping on your door its on the roof little silver rivets i think thats what is holding it in.I think it drains the water from the roof down the window.

Oh, you mean the rain channels on the roof, close to the door jamb? If so, I don't believe those can be removed. I think they're molded into the roof, at least mine appear to be and they are painted. I think the older F-150's used to have chrome rain channels that were either glued or mounted with fasteners in some way, but I think they are molded in on our trucks.

What's wrong with your rain channels where you ware wanting to remove them?
