I've "gotten away" with mudding my truck a few times. I was in my early 20's when I lifted it and like most would be, I was curious to see how the new suspension performed off road. Naturally, the clearance was a huge gain. I've hit mud holes, crossed small streams, driven through deep snow, navigated rough and hilly terrain, etc. The lift helped in many areas, but at the end of the day it's still a 2wd, so just be careful what you get yourself into. Or hell go for it all and live\learn, just make sure you have a 4wd there to get you out once you get "in too deep"
. But between my BFG's and a limited slip mine does well. I don't "mud" anymore (only really did a few times) but I do go camping in areas that have some tough terrain and I love to go plowing through some deep snow when we get it.

My truck is 4wd but I would say majority of the mud holes I have gone through 2wd was more than enough. Not sure if its because my tires or what but I know the ranger and shortbed chevy had to be in 4wd.
Only time I have ever had trouble is when I am going up long bumpy steepy hills. The mountains here are full of clay so as long as tires keep spinning and clearing out I normally get up no problem. Some times I have to back up and then slam it forward hard to make it... Then again sometimes its just impossible in 2wd.. As long as you have someone with you, you should be able to take some/more holes than you might expect.. Just make sure to keep the wheels spinning, once they slow down you are looking for one hell of a time

yeah, i mud all the time, when i first got my truck i went mudding with stock pirellis that were bald as a slick. you just gotta know you and your trucks limits when you go out, obviously don't go for the deepest baddest rut. you'll get stuck, just stay on the gas and work the wheel a little and you'll be fine, especially with a little bit of lift and clearance on the front you can make it through some stuff. Don't go mudding alone, go with someone your confident can pull you out. the worst thing is getting stuck by yourself and waiting 4 hours for your buddy to find you.
Just dont burry it up or get in a set of ruts that are too deep. I use to play a good bit in 2wd (even in my 93 4x4) that's half the fun, seeing if you can make it in 2wd... My 97 was 2wd and I didnt play near as much in it but, still played a little.

Not necessarily true.. If whatever your doing causes you to redline in 2wd, its a clear indicator its too hard of work on your truck.. If it remains like that for some time your going to damage things.. Be rough on your truck, just dont break it.. Chevy lovers feed off that
2wd mudding is all about momentum and picking the right line. Always try and keep moving and never stop. If you do hit a point where you can't move forward anymore, try and rock the truck by quickly reversing and going forward to get yourself un-stuck. Don't turn your wheels into the ruts.
when you rock the truck wait until your rpm's get back down to idle before you shift into reverse. dumbass kid at my school has a 7.3l f250 and he throws it in reverse when his rpms are still like 3k, not good
god 3k is like redline in a diesel...
From the guy that don't really know whats done to his truck..
not going to just throw that out there
not going to just throw that out there

What is the electronic device mounted to the dash below your brake controller? Is it your programmer? Hard to tell by the picture...just wondered if it was something special.
