no start, no click

ok guys, i need hlp, 2002 f150 4x4, 4.6 v8w, 5speed.

truck wouldn't start other day, replaced the stater yesterday, truck fired up just fine 3 times, went to start it today, and nothing.... all fuses and relays seem fine. i can pull start it truck drives fine, i wanted to test "kill switch" (Clutch Interlock Switch, safety switch, ford called it a clutch master cylinder safety switch, but also wants 90 bucks.) on clutch, but theirs like 10 wires coming out of a harness, into the switch. anyway of jumping wires? or testing switch? or any other ideas?

this is what part looks like, too me, but if i try too buy it at store around the house they want to sell the hole assembly too me. "$90"

Did you check the battery voltage?

You have to find the cause before replacing parts or you will spend more before it's over.
Does it crank in Park?
Does it crank in neutral?
If no to both, look at the battery cables and posts for corrosion etc.
The start circuit can be by-passed as a test for part of the starter circuit before you begin replacing part on a guess and a hope.
The Haynes manuel has the start circuit on page 12-17.
Use it to see how the circuit works first.

Like mentioned, have you checked voltage. Are your lights cutting out when you turn the key (bad connection at the terminals).

If this is all good, Im leaning towards the clutch switch... But I would have it scanned with a reputable mechanic before I started pitching parts at it.

Leave it in neutral and short the switch on the firewall. If it starts the problem is in the starter circuit. I bypassed my clutch switch for the starter. I can start it with the clutch engaged.

Is that what your doing in your sig pic man? That could hurt lol.

Unfortunately not. I was trying to engage the front axle, trying is not the word. I turns out that after that outing I discovered I needed a new transfercase. Sung to the tune of The 12 days of Christmas: On the fifth day of mudding my red truck took from me: Five broken transmissions, Four sets of rubber, three 8.8s, Two sets of headders and a broken transfer case.

Haha, nice, yea, I seem to recall you reciting that tune, - a few times lol. A perfect way to reflect, -in spirit no less.

once again i would check the battery, start by taking the battery to an auto store to have it tested. Then i would check to see if you throwing any codes. gl to you

check the wire connections to the starter as well. If they are corroded or loose at all it could cause this problem.
