edc question

edc question

does anybody on here run an edc (Engine Driven Compressor) on a v8? i know chevy makes a bracket kit, but i cant find one for our trucks

any pic's would be helpfull, trying to get ideas on placement

I run one on a 2.8 chevy v6. I built the bracket myself so I could keep my ac. Let me see what I can find.

Im finding them for the 4.2v6 but not for the 4.6/5.4

I havent found anything yet. You may have to build your own brackets. I made my own because all the brackets sold delete the ac. I was not going to delete my ac. it took me about a day to make the brakcets.

yea i figured id have to fab some brackets, the problem is im not sure where to put the thing lol, i have no fender wells so room isnt much of an issue, but finding somewhere to run the belt could be fun, maby a double groove pully???

I just used a longer belt. I have one serp belt running everything. My truck originally had a smog pump and I removed it. I moved the alt to the original smog pump location. My edc now resides in the original alt spot. I am running a sanden 508. I got it from a mid 90s jeep cherokee.

does it have the external oiler?

No I have to manually add oil to it about once a month. I can tell when it starts getting low because it gets louder.
