What trucks say 4x4 on the side of them.

I have been noticing that some trucks say 4x4 on the back rear fender but my truck and some others don't. Just out of curiosity i would like to know why this is. And I know my truck is 4x4 i don't need a sticker to tell me that lol.

Repaints? Every 4x4 I've seen says so, off roads and non. I'm sure many have removed them too.

I guess you haven't owned your truck since it was new? If that's the case, then most likely the previous owner simply removed them. It's a common "appearance mod" that I see many members on this forum do, especially the ones with those 2009+ generation stickers.

you only get the 4x4 sticker when you have the "offroad package". which includes skid plates.

i took mine off though.

Well considering the fact i was 10 years old when my truck was new and nobody in my family hands me anything i would have to say you are right. I had to do it the old fashion way, get a job and buy it myself. Which i did and made my last payment last week actually. Took me 11 months to pay it off.

I have the off-road package and skid plate as well.

My "2006" is a straight up XLT. It has No "off road" package and it has No skid plates. It Does however have the 4x4 decals.
That pretty much shoots your statement or theory full of holes.

Better than being like a friend of mine who drives 2wd chevy colorado with some Z71 stickers on it. But I'm willing to be he put them on himself, they are crooked.

yes, yours is a NBS, and the packages were different than the 97-03 f150's.

Why would you remove your skidplate? I took mine off and painted it red to match my rancho lift and my truck.

I'm glad my stickers were removed before i bought the truck. I don't like them and would have removed them myself anyway.

I start to type "Wait, what?!? WTF are they thinking?" then I remembered just which brand we were talking about.

If you still want cool looking 4x4 emblems I'd go to a place like http://www.decaldesigners.com/ and order some. They have some cool designs.
