Replacing gas tank woes
Replacing gas tank woes
So i tackled my gas tank today finally....and it went not so bad getting it off...
First problem was the hose clamps were rusted to **** so they wouldn't come off so i used some WD-40 and some vice grips and got em off...
Then we had a problem getting all the hoses off the connectors and this and that.....
Got everything unhooked dropped it and forgot the Fuel pressure sensor and another hose were hooked so we undid the hose and my buddy tried getting the fps off and....................
BROKE IT! $130 mistake there...Then come to find out, my truck actually has a 30 gallon tank! NOT a 24.5..like i had thought..
Everytime i fillup it usually only takes 22/23 gallons to fill it, thats why i figured it was a 24.5....so now im going to be out another $50 from the %20 restocking fees and the shipping charges. Not to mention the new tank is $230 plus $40 for straps..
Im having a lovely time with this! And now i have to wait till tuesday for the new tank!
