Moose_God's 00 5.4 4x4 build thread

Just got a 5.4 4x4 supercab XL about three weeks ago and figured I might as well start a thread on it...nothing extreme yet, just replaced a few tune-up items and changed the oil, swapped in some nice 60/40 front seats from an '04 Heritage, painted the front grille shell to match, and threw on some Lightning style headlights.

Stock as a rock the day I got her:

Nice work truck front end (ha!)

PTM grille shell and L heads:

Already have some ideas in the works as to what direction to take with the build...I'm thinking the stormtrooper look would work well (PTM Lariat mirrors, Front and rear bumper pad, lower valance, door handles) with a 3" body lift, mildly cranked T-bars, and around a 33" tall tire on black rims (haven't decided on which ones, if anybody has ideas, let me hear 'em!)...Need some stereo upgrades badly, probably will run a couple of 10s in a box under the rear seat and better door speakers.

Welcome to the Forums. Break out the checkbook . and have at it. Not a bad start. Look up the "Gotts Mod" for a cheap mod

I thought about doing that or getting a stock honeycomb style one...I'm thinking a black billet grille might look even better though.

Got some pics of my seat swap.

Out with the old:

(Thanks for the help, Dad!)

And in with the new:

I know there are a lot of guys on here swapping in buckets with a console, but I had 40/20/40 seats from a '95 in my '86 F150 and loved them. I like having the ability to seat 6 (albeit cramped) ...plus the GF can cozy up on those long trips...can't do that with buckets!

Install was pretty easy, too...just had to remove the seatbelts and tap two holes for the mounts.

Check out the ATX Crawls from american racing. IMO they would make a sweet wheel for your build.

Right! That's why they call buckets, - birth control seats.

Not a bad looking wheel...

I always wanted to run these on my Jeep, just not sure how they'd look on an F-150 (in a 17" rim size)

Man, the white trucks look ugly without the body moldings.
