misfire

Ok the other morning I was coming home from work when my truck started running like crap. So I limped home and checked the codes since the ses light was flashing. Well the code was P0303 a misfire at cylinder#3.I figure that the cop went bad and plan to replace it but the problem is I cannot remember how the cylinders are numbered and I have been told 2 different ways. 1 was was that the passenger side of the engine is 1-4 and the drivers side is 5-8. The other is the passenger side is odd numbers 1,3,5,7 and the drivers side is even 2,4,6,8. thanks for any help in advance and the truck is a 2002 f-150 4x4 4.6.
