Heritage Fuel problem

While trying to teach my son how to drive a stick in my 2004 Heritage, he violently killed it and it won't start. It has spark, I think I hear my pumps kicking on when I turn the key, the fuel fuse is good and the inertia switch doesn't appear to be tripped. Any ideas?

Does the Heritage have a safety shutoff switch like the new models? Is this the "inertia switch" that you mention?

I know our newer models have a kill switch by the fuse panel that can be reset

Also - have you tried checking codes?

The inertia switch is the safety switch that I'm referring to and can it be bad without being "tripped"? I haven't checked codes because I can't find my code reader. Don't know if I lost it or loaned it out.

My guess would be the fuel pump shut-off switch. Try taking the key out, reset the switch (push it in a few times), turn the ignition on (don't start the truck), wait a few seconds and return the key to off. The Ford manual tells you to check for leaks and if all good start.

Yeah, I've tried that. The thing is that the shut off switch isn't tripped. The button is still down and it hasn't popped up. How do you check the switch?

I think there might be a relay hard wired into the fuse panel on the obs F150, might have to check the power coming from ECM and PCM to fuel pump. Also from ignition to pump.

Try posting in the 1997 - 2003 section. Those guys will know more about these exact trucks. Not sure why that section doesn't have a "and Heritage" because the Heritage is an obs.

I just got done with a similar problem on my '01. All my safety switches and fuses were good along with the relay and the pump. Turned out my problem was the PCM not sending or cutting out the signal to the pump, injectors and cops. It wasn't throwing any codes, I think it was Jbrew that said in my thread fuel problems don't usually throw codes unless its a misfire.

There is the switch behind the right kick panel, a fuse in the box under the dash, one or two fuses in the box near the brake booster and the PCM and Fuel Pump relays(31 and 32 I believe.)
