Yea, I broke that one. I think that's the one I thru at the dog for chewing up my Big gulp coffee mug. I found one from a 99 model year, but the damn thing was a bottom pull. The 98's are a Top pull. So I had to gut the 99 for 98 internals. Sounds like a hassle ehh lol.

I ported and polished the new one, - along with the aluminum intake, I also knifed the intake, then port matched the lower. That was allot of work lol. Well , the upper was anyway.

But nah, it takes a little more effort than just sticking Mothers glory ball in the suck hole. Miscellaneous abrasive wheels, sized, so your just basically reaming her down. That's not to difficult really. Sanding wheels towards finish, then buff it out with Red rouge and jewlers compound.

THEN , that overpriced mothers red ball, if you want., -that might last a little longer than a cricket fart, if your lucky. Yea, I always get that fricken thing caught on somthing , then it fills the air with red floaties. They should of named it , -Mothers Wussy Ball because yea, - it's not worth a frogs fat ***.

i just ordered a predator with my transmission, and Diablomike is gonna hook me up with a custom MPG tune, and to correct for the new transmission. so im hoping with that, the efans getting completed and the new transmission that i can somehow find 18mpg hwy. and how did the O2 sensors work out?

I've also noticed , if you carefully clean the wires by hand, - they stay clean for along time. That might be because I run a dry element now, - I ran a K&N for years and didn't realize how much I hated it until I switched to a quality dry element. Much less work, - and the truck runs consistently the same.

A dirty MAF screws with your shift points. Have you ever noticed your truck shifting to quick, specially 3rd and OD, -then you need to give it more pedal. Or your truck feeling like slug, - more than usual ? Allot of that is MAF compromise IMO.

Anyway, - sounds like DirtyScrew is taken care business. Some engines/vehicles, it doesn't matter what you do, you can't get them to run the way you think they should or like others with the same/similar vehicle. It's not that uncommon. My daughters old 98 4.2L would only get 12 mpg and she went thru it, tuned it up , updated sensors, good maintenance. The 5four did better than her 2wd, - unless I was pulling trailer. Well, it's not always the driver, it can be that vehicle, just that vehicle , - for some odd reason that you can't always make sense of.

Just the effort, doing what you have will payoff in some way. Your not that far from average anyway (mpg's). Most likely closer than you realize, - - after cutting thru everyones bull-bologna. Do what you can do for your Ford, - you'll enjoy her allot more and she's less likely to let you down ( that's broken down, on the side of the road )
Windex is good stuff. Makes a great carpet spot remover as long as you get the kind without ammonia. Removes stains with out leaving the dirt attracting residue most carpet spotting chemicals like Resolve do. Ammonia will burn carpet fibers so you want to stay away from that.

As of now, I have Yet to see any improvement from replacing the o2 sensors. A tank or 2 more should give me more data----DirtySCREW

That's not bad brother for towing a boat! If I ever come into some disposable income, I might throw the efans and Magnaflow hi-flow cats on her. But that's a BIG if!------------------DirtySCREW

Seems to me you have already disposed of a lot of income into this thing already - it's so ridiculous now that you should just keep going..........

What you have spent on this thing would have bought you a beater Honda to get back and forth to work, and who cares about the gas mileage in a TRUCK.
