starter problem, please help!

My starter seems to work when it wants to. I took the the starter off and had it tested, and the test came back that it was fine. I put it back on, then it started a couple of times, then just wouldnt turn over. Its not even cranking the engine, but I do hear a click in the starter when I turn the ignition. I have jumped the starter and it was fine, but when I turned the ignition on it worked fine. The problem keeps coming and going, so it is hard to rely on. What could be the problem??????????

Relay, corroded cables, battery. So, relay could be intermittently screwing up, bad cable connections can do the same thing as well as the battery. Load testing the battery would be a good idea. Starters themselves don't usually go out on these Fords. Not if you have the factory Bosch that is. Most common problem is dirty cables at the stater itself.
