Console Build

Trying to finish my console out at least the top and since things got so mixed up in my other thread thought id start fresh.

Quick Recap

98 xl converted to buckets, then i got a rough but intact console from LKQonline through ebay.

test fit it in the truck with just the shell

then i chopped what i want the lid design to look like

itll be black leather with grey stitching

then i cut out the top piece to have some cup holder while i decided what to do

decided to re arrange the storage in the top part

^^^ future proposed layout

fleeced it

first layer of glass

thats where im at for now. i pulled it out and added some resin to the underside of the piece to get rid of the air bubbles.

gonna decide tonight based on how it looks if i keep going forward or redo it with the new info i got last night from a composites queen on another site

Angel hair method, method of laying the matte and using plastic bag to force the resin through the matte. It's hard to explain like this but when I try it like the angel hair I'll have some good pics hopefully. Gotta go back over some of the stuff with her before doing more

More than happy to share pat

just FYi i did 3 layers of mat on my deck before it is sturdy enough for my tastes, thinking about doing one layer from the bottom just to help seal it in place

If you have a tuner you could have made a spot for it in the console, that would be cool. Or a built in Ipod dock. I wish I had the knowledge to do fiberglass.
