My 1998 Ford 150 . I put my key in the ignition and it would not turn. I turned the steering wheel, used a newer key ,sprayed silocone in the ignition and could still not get the key to turn . Help

Pop the ignition switch out and see what the problem is or just replace it

how do you "pop" out the cylinder? For sone odd reason, mine locked up yesterday. I accidentally put the key to a different car in it and now it won't turn.

well you have to be able to turn the key to get the cylinder out lol. sounds like yall are gonna have fun!

to take it out turn the key to the run position, underneath the steering collum there is a hole in the plastic so you can press alittle ball bearing on the key cylinder and it will slide right out.

try sliding the key in really slowly, and trying to turn it forward slightly back and forth as it goes it. Some older key will do that once they wear down. Kinda rock the key forward and backwards as it goes it.

also don't use silicone, use graphite powder

I've got the same year same problem . Grab the darn switch the key fits in to and and move it back and forth while at the same time turning it firmly only. It will go providing you have the right key in it to start. if not ahhhhh............. I dono .
